Born of fire.
Born of blood.
Born to be reborn

Salem, 1693
At the height of the witch trials, a young newlywed falls pregnant by her husband and, on the very same night, by a demon from hell. When the town elders find she is carrying two babies, their ignorance condemns her as a witch, and she is burned at the stake.
But before she dies, the demon Baleth begs the Devil to let his spawn be born again. His wish is granted. Both children will be re-born, three hundred years in the future.
300 Years Later
Baleth's twin girls are born to Alex and Hazel. But Hazel dies giving birth, Alex abandons the babies, and the sisters are adopted by different couples, one in the UK and one in the USA. In Salem!
The twins grow up worlds apart. Eliza is privileged and happy while Eloise is impoverished and miserable. Eloise grows up doing very bad things, and Eliza feels every one of them, yet understands nothing of what is happening to her.
When Eliza turns eighteen, her mum finally tells her the truth. She has a twin sister, and she must find her. With her best friend Tilly, Eliza sets off for the United States, believing the answers to all her problems will become clear when they find Eloise.
